She has displayed, spent and amassed immense amounts of wealth in the midst of Phillipine's poverty, and will always be remembered with bitterness for that by most Phillipinos.

It is believed that in today's scenario there are too many exceptions to allow this rule to continue. Many agree and many feel that it is one of the few spelling rules that are universally known so it should remain. However with words like 'sufficient', 'veil' and 'their' existing, it seems the rule should not be allowed any more.

Seems like a sad decision, since it is something that most English speaking people have grown up with.

Amanda Knox Trial update - A coroner has testified in the Amanda Knox murder trial in Italy. He has said that the knife that was used to kill Amanda's room-mate Meredith Kercher was a 3 to 3 1/2 inch (8 to 9 cms) long knife and the knife found in Knox's boyfriends house was a 6 1/2 inch (16.5 centimeters) long one.

The coroner testified that the suspected murder weapon could not be the real murder weapon as the actual murder weapon was shorter. Amanda Knox and her boyfriend Sollecito have pleaded not guilty. This is a very important development in the case, that has caught the attention of all of Italy. Amanda Knox and Kercher (the victim) are both American students.

David Letterman in his TV show made an inappropriate joke about Sarah Palin's teenage daughter saying York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez 'knocked up' Palin's daughter. Though Letterman said he meant Palin's 18 year old daughter who is an unwed mother, Sarah Palin felt it was about her 14 year old daughter who had gone to the game.

Letterman apologised and in a recent statement Sarah Palin said that she accepted the apology but also said that she felt that men who make such jokes haven't yet evolved.

As seen in a video, a man was tasered and beaten up by at least four cops in Nottingham, England. The man is tasered twice and held down by several cops who also go on to punch him. A crowd looks on and as bystander try to intervene, the policemen push them back. It is unclear as to why the man was being subject to such violent treatment by the cops. Though the man was rolling about, he didn’t appear to be kicking out at the cops or actively attacking them in any way, so the repeated violence from the cops seems unnecessary. It makes for an ugly picture for the cops.

The reality behind the murder that happened two years ago is far from being revealed. We hope that the guilty is proven guilty and the innocent is proven innocent.

The Air France Flight 447's black box is the name given to the flight recorders, which contain vital information about the aircraft. This information includes all technical readings regarding the aircraft (time of day, air pressure, the plane's speed and altitude, how much fuel is there, whether fuel is flowing properly, position of rudders and flight stabilizers which are checked eight times a second) and even recording of audio inside the cockpit which picks up all conversation and also tiny sounds like that of switches.


This black box is actually an orange cylinder which has the vital memory chips cased within several layers of aluminum, insulation and stainless steel. In simple words the Air France Flight's Black Box holds the key to why the plane crashed.

A young woman in Tel Aviv bought her elderly mother a new mattress to make life more comfortable for her, and threw away her tattered old mattress. Unfortunately that old mattress had been stuffed with the elderly mother's life saving of a million dollars. Taken away by the garbage truck the mattress is in all probability in a city garbage dump. After the girl talked about it on Israel Army radio, the authorities are on a hunt to trace the mattress in the garbage dumps but it hasn't been found as yet. Annat, the daughter, and her mother are taking it as a part of accepting the good and bad in life. I do hope they get the mattress back, it sounds like such a hugely unfortunate turn of luck. They must get the mattress back! (by the way some treasure hunters are trying to snatch the mattress and money for themselves)

Two flights have had to make emergency landings recently (so close to the tragic Air France disaster), an American Airlines flight that was going to Zurich from New York and an airbus jet that was going from Canary Isles to Oslo, Norway. There were 206 passengers and crew in the American Airlines flight, and 189 passengers and crew in the airbus jet. All have landed safely and are on their way, or will soon be moving to the original destinations in new aircrafts. This is getting quite scary, are the skies safe for flying?
