In 1984 while shooting for a Pepsi commercial, a stage pyrotechnics show involved two bombs going off near Michael Jackson's head. The sparks caused Jackson's hair to catch fire.
The mishap was seen live by fans and it resulted in Michael Jackson having several surgeries and skin grafts to heal his burnt scalp. The pain killer addiction this got him into, lasted till his death a few days ago at age 50. The never-before seen video of this incident emerged with US Weekly magazine a few days back.
Michael Jackson's Pepsi burn accident resulted in Pepsi paying him 1.5 million dollars which he donated to a burns clinic that was named after him.
