She was angry that the 33 year old man with whose Internet avataar she was married to, suddenly virtually divorced her. Using passwords she had obtained when they had been happily virtually married, she entered the account of the man in question and killed off his avataar.
This got the man so upset that he complained to the police, and the police arrested the woman for illegally accessing a computer and manipulating electronic data. Not yet formally charged, if convicted she could go to prison for five years or pay a fine of up to $5,000.
The woman who is 43 years old is from Kyushu province in southern Japan.
